Robert "Bob" Leonard Patterson, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024. He was born on October 19, 1943, in Lansing, MI to Russell & Dorothy (Donohue) Patterson and graduated from Parma Western High School in Parma, MI. He went on to Western Michigan University where he received his BA in Teaching and eventually his masters Degree. Bob served his country in the US Army in the Vietnam War. Bob dedicated his life to education, proudly serving as a Speech Teacher and Debate Coach at Muskegon High School for 31 years before retiring in 2001. A loyal supporter of the Big Reds, he touched the lives of countless students both in and out of the classroom. Bob, a devoted husband to Linda Patterson, met his darling wife Linda when he was working as a lifeguard. He married her on November 7, 1970, and together they shared a son, Ryan. He found joy in simple pleasures - from cheering on his favorite sports teams, including all MSU athletics, the Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs, and the Muskegon Big Reds to embarking on memorable Amtrak journeys all across the USA where he always met lots of folks along the way. Bob was a former member of the Muskegon Eagles, VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with family at events.

Wife, Linda Patterson; son Ryan (Kelsey) Patterson, grandson Alex John Patterson, and brothers John (Jan) Patterson, Thomas Patterson.
