Mr. Robert D. "Bob" Larson, age 93, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Harbor Hospice-Poppen House. He was born in Muskegon Heights, MI on June 8, 1920 to Paul & Ruth (Searer) Larson. Bob served his country in the US Army during WWII as Sergeant in Company C 16th Tank Battalion of the 16th Armored Division as Tank Commander in General Patton's 3rd Army in the Battle of the Bulge. Bob married the former Jeanne Denault on August 1, 1959 and worked at John Hosler Stores as a salesman until he became a realtor at Sun Agency and Key Real Estate until retiring. He was a member of the Lions Club and participated in the YMCA and Muscular Dystrophy charity drives. Bob loved his convertibles and horse racing and once owned a race horse with his best friend Charlie Thielbar. SURVIVORS Brother, Howard Paul Larson of Grand Rapids; nieces and nephews, Howard Paul (Anne) Larson Jr., Marc R. Larson, Cynthia Larson (Dennis) Burden, Jeff C. (Karen) Larson; close friends, Dan & Frances Thielbar, Connie & Joe Koteles, Sally Bradbury and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanne; sister, Ardis Larson and friend CharlieThielbar. MILITARY SERVICE Friday, September 6, 2013, 2:00 PM at St. Marys Cemetery, 1915 Park Street, Muskegon, MI 49441. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice or Muskegon County Council of Veterans.
