Robert Langlois

Mr. Robert J. Langlois, age 76, died early Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born on July 7, 1931 in Muskegon to Leo J. Sr. and Helen P. (Williams) Langlois, and had resided here his entire life. Bob was a Veteran of U.S. Marines. He had worked at West Michigan Therapy as a counselor, was a barber in Muskegon Hts. for many years, and most recently owned "Just Cuts for Men" Barber Shop in Cloverville. Bob had also worked as a longshoreman, crossing the Great Lakes on many different freight and car ferry boats. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and being around people. Bob was a current member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On April 4, 1990 he married the former Kathleen Cooper, and she survives him along with 2 daughters, Lois Marie (Kevin) Stipp and Kimberly (Joe) Smollen, both of California; 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica, and Noah; 2 step-children, Rita (Dennis) Cherry and Ty Gustafson; 3 step-grandchildren, Alex, Andrea, and Brenden; brothers and sisters include Dorothy Moran, Gerald (Gwen) Langlois, Louis (Phyllis) Langlois, Helen (Monte) Tietsort, Lois (Ed) Lynch, Ray (Sandra) Langlois, sister-in-law, Virginia "Jinny" Langlois; many nieces & nephews; and golf and bowling buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Sr. and Helen P. Langlois; brothers, Leo Jr. and William Sr.; and sister, Marcella. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with the Rosary being prayed at 7PM. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 10 AM Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. William A. Langlois as celebrant. Memorial contributions to Hackley VNS Hospice or St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Building Fund will be appreciated.
