Robert Kieft

Robert Maurice Keift, 66, of Whitehall, Michigan passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025 after a brief illness with his beloved wife Julie of 39 years by his side.

Rob had an infectious smile and energy that was noticed by everyone around him. Rob was an amazing husband who was always supportive and selfless. Him and Julie lived life to the fullest, going on many vacations together along with their fur babies. He also enjoyed spending a lot of time with extended family camping, boating, fishing and telling campfire stories. Rob could often be seen buzzing around the campsite going from task to task full of energy with a smile on his face. Rob loved to vacation to Disney or Hawaii on his birthdays and made friends wherever he traveled.

Rob retired from GE Aerospace in April 2025 after 29 years. Rob was a hard worker and loved by all his co-workers. They especially loved when he brought his homemade spicy peanut brittle at Christmas.

Rob passed away with "no regrets".

Rob is survived by his loving wife Julie (Putnam) Kieft, daughter Lisa (Shawn) Higgins, grandchildren Lucas, Jack and Macy. Siblings Bill (Rita) Kieft, Sue (Randy) Burgess, Brian Kieft and twin brother Michael Kieft. He also leaves behind his in-laws Larry (Barb) Putnam and Tom (Carol) Putnam who he spent a lot of time with and cared for deeply. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends that held a special place in his heart.

Preceded in death by his parents Robert W. Kieft and Lanore Kieft, brother Larry Kieft, and nephew Adam Kieft.

Special thanks to the Trinity Health Muskegon staff for the outstanding care and compassion that Rob received. Also his cousin Frank Jensen and twin brother Michael for constantly being there for him & Julie during his illness.

A celebration of life will take place at Ross Park Pavillion in Norton Shores, MI on Sunday September 14, 2025 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, consider donating toward a lasting memorial marker at one of Rob & Julie's favorite locations.
