Mr. Robert Glenn "Bob" Hubbell died suddenly Friday, August 3, 2007 in Spring Lake at the age of 52. He was born in Ludington, Michigan on April 28, 1955 and moved with his parents to Muskegon in 1956. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 1973. Bob was a diplomate in Mechanical Design and Drafting Technology from Baker College in Muskegon. Bob spent many years employed in the Mechanical Conveyor industry, including employment with Operator Specialty Company and Rapistan in the Grand Rapids area and in San Antonio and Fort Worth, Texas. He returned to Michigan in 1987 and spent the last 15 years employed by Eagle Ottawa Corporation, as Environmental Manager until closure of the Grand Haven plant. Robert is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Hubbell of Muskegon; a brother, Lt. Colonel Bryan Hubbell (Texas Air National Guard) of Houston, Texas; a sister, Cheri (Greg) Thaut of St. Maries, Idaho; nephew, Dustin Hubbell; a niece, Sarah Jane Thaut, both of St. Maries, Idaho. He is also survived by his aunts Ruth (Sanford) Wendt of Custer, Mary Miller of Grand Rapids, Stella Dickey of Charlotte and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hubbell. Bob loved to read, create Native American crafts, and build small furniture. His first passion was fishing and enjoyed the beautiful outdoors of our state. The Hubbell family would like to express their appreciation to all of Bob's friends and colleagues for their support in this time of loss. He has richly blessed our lives with his quiet strength. He will be greatly missed. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 1:00 PM Thursday August 9, 2007 at Fruitland Covenant Church (4283 N. Weber Rd.) with Pastor Brian Kyle officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider the American Heart Association or Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church.
