Robert Joseph Hopka

Hopka, Mr Robert Joseph Muskegon, Michigan Mr. Robert Joseph Hopka, age 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He was born in Muskegon, MI on November 14, 1923 to Steven and Vera (Breno) Hopka and served his country in the air force during WWII. He enjoyed being seen whenever he went out with his WWII Veterans hat that he wore so proudly. Robert married the former Dolores Kulesza on July 7,1965. Robert had been employed at Shaw Walker for 44 years until retiring in 1986. He was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Church. Robert was an exceptionally kind, gentle man who truly loved and cherished his wife, Dolores. SURVIVORS Survivors include his two nieces, Barbara DeBruyn (Rick) and Mary Anderson (Alan), and nephews Robert Stevenson, James Stevenson (Brandi), Mark Stevenson (Vicki) and Thomas Homa (Karen), 7 great nieces and nephew and a great great niece and 2 great, great nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores, parents Stephen and Vera Hopka, sister, Betty Homa (Edwin), niece Nancy Stevenson and nephew Michael Homa. SERVICE A mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Fr. Charlie Hall officiating. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, March 7, 2022 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home.
