Robert H. Miller

MILLER, MR ROBERT H. Grand Haven Mr. Jerome H. ''Jerry'' Miller, died Monday, May 17, 2004. He was born in Racine, Wisconsin on February 1, 1920 to Albert & Katherine Tanking Miller and married his childhood sweetheart, the former Gertrude Schirott ''Gert'' on June 13, 1941 in Racine, WI. Mr. Miller attended Marquette University at Milwaukee and was a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker, as well as a Journeyman Patternmaker. He had been employed in various plant and management positions in Racine prior to joining Sealed Power Corp/SPX, in Muskegon, MI, where he held similar positions, for 23 years, until his retirement on Feb. 1, 1985. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand Haven and St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach,Florida, where they wintered for 23 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a lifetime member of the Elks and had also been a member of various engineering societies. His interests included traveling with his wife Gert and playing cards with his many friends. SURVIVORS Wife, Gertrude ''Gert'' of Grand Haven; 2 sons, Jerome A. Miller of Racine, WI and Thomas M. Mary Lee Miller of Eagle River, Alaska; 2 daughters, Jean ''Tootie'' Miller of Grand Haven and Susan Thom Bosman of Marshall, MI; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, FlorenceTediwick of California. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, William, Albert and Maurice Miller; and a sister, Mable Paur. SERVICE Thursday, May 20, 2004, 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Fr. William be Langlois presiding. MEMORIAL: North Ottawa Care Center or Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
