Robert Lee Goloversic

Robert "Bob" Lee Goloversic, of Muskegon, age 82, died peacefully on August 20, 2026. Bob will be lovingly remembered as a man whose warm smile, quick wit, and genuine care touched the lives of many. Born in Muskegon on March 2, 1944, to John and Emily (Oravetz) Goloversic, Bob was the kind of person who made friends wherever he went, and his spirit will be greatly missed.

Growing up as one of nine children in Ruddiman Terrace, Bob attended Muskegon Catholic Central High School and Muskegon High School before serving his country honorably in the Naval Reserves. His professional journey took him to New Jersey, where he worked as the clothing department manager for Unishops, Inc. from 1965 to 1974, before returning to his beloved Muskegon, a place that always felt like home.

With a passion for bartending that spanned decades, Bob poured drinks at some of Muskegon's most treasured establishments, including Northside Pub, Diversions, Circles, Tanglewood, and the Elks. His warm demeanor and camaraderie, especially with his dear colleague Elaine, turned shifts into joyous reunions where patrons weren't just customers-they were friends. Bob also had a knack for retail, bringing his friendly spirit and positive outlook to every interaction.

Throughout his life, Bob faced numerous health challenges, including a stroke that led him to retirement from bartending, colon cancer, and open-heart surgery. Yet, he met these trials with quiet strength and an unwavering devotion to his family. As a beloved uncle and godfather, he cherished the bonds that connected him to loved ones, often traveling great distances to keep those connections alive-including a memorable trip to Aruba. His heartfelt dedication reached across states, with cherished relatives in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Faith was an integral part of Bob's life, as he worshiped at St. Francis de Sales and St. Thomas Catholic Church, finding joy in attending services, even via television in recent years. Bob found solace in nature, tending his garden and sharing his plants with those he loved, transforming his yard into a vibrant oasis.

Bob will be deeply missed by his partner, Dennis Kniat; siblings Jo Paleka, Jack (Doris) Goloversic, Jim (Mary) Goloversic, Sandy Scheidegger, and Star (Ron) Baird, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Nancy Corgan, Bill Goloversic, and Rich Goloversic, along with cherished colleagues and friends.

A Memorial Service celebrating Bob's life will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Clock Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, with Visitation occurring one hour prior at the funeral home. Following the service, friends and family are invited to a luncheon in the Clock Family Center. Bob will find his final resting place at St. Mary's Cemetery alongside his parents.
