Robert Cole

Mr. Robert E. Cole, age 87, died Thursday, May 6, 2010. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on August 13, 1922 to John & Madeline (Gaudin) Cole and married the former Julia Davis on June 21, 1947. Mr. Cole proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the ships, Philadelphia & George E. Davis. He had been employed as an operator at the Muskegon Filtration Plant for 26 years until retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Don Rea VFW Post, the Muskegon D.A.V., a former member of Muskegon Moose Lodge, and a volunteer fireman for Muskegon Township. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling, but foremost was his family & his friends at Johnson Hall. SURVIVORS Son, Dan (Kathy) Cole of Mancelona; 2 sisters-in-law, Barb Davis, Elsie (Bob) Gust, both of Muskegon; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia in 1988.
