CARLISLE, MR. ROBERT M. Muskegon Mr. Robert M. Carlisle, age 81, went to be with his Lord, Monday, January 19, 2004. He was born in Muskegon, MI on November 10, 1922 to Jesse & Gertrude Schuitema Carlisle & married the former Virginia Conklin on August 14, 1944 in Muskegon, MI. Mr. Carlisle served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII at the Siegfried Line at the Battle of the Bulge & was a recipient of a Purple Heart. He had been employed as a Cabinet Maker at E.H. Sheldon for 30 years, V Manufacturing in the tool shop for 10 years & had been employed at Old Country Buffet up to his death. He attended Calvary Church & had been a volunteer fireman for Muskegon Twp. for 10 years. SURVIVORS Wife, Virginia; 1 son, Gary LaVonne Carlisle of Muskegon; 3 daughters, Linda Terry Burns of Norton Shores, Diane David Campbell of Muskegon & Kimberly Thomas Valk of Orlando, Fl; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Jesse Mary Carlisle of Muskegon, Marvin Betty Carlisle of Jonesboro, IN, Louis Jean Carlisle of Brownwood, TX, Russell Judy Carlisle of Jacksonville, FL & Bernie Susan Carlisle of Sun City, AZ; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Carlisle of Muskegon & June Carlisle of Fremont. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ray, James & Herm & by a sister, Betty. SERVICE Thursday, January 22, 2004, 1:00 PM at the Clock Chapel with Pastor Jonathan D. Rager officiating, with a military service under the auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION Thursday, January 22, 2004, one hour prior to the service at Clock Funeral Home.
