Rita Vangennep

Mrs. Loretta J. "Rita" VanGennep, age 96, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014. She was born in Marshalltown, IA on February 22, 1918 to Aretus & Cidemrus (McDonald) Bogardus and married William VanGennep on April 18, 1942. Mrs. VanGennep had been a hairdresser and then a secretary, and also worked in an ammunition factory during WWII. She was a loving and caring person who will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Nieces and nephews, Helen Jean (Bill) Cornett of CA, Laura (John) Bond of FL, Susan (Don) Mason of MS, Joyce (Jim) Hoeker of Muskegon, Sandy (John) Martin of IN, Sherri (Mike) Lintjer of Muskegon, Jackie (Wayne) Schmidt of Spring Lake, Ann (Steve) Ziel of Rockford, Rita (Larry) Gilbert of Muskegon; special nephew, Phillip (Shirley) VanGennep of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1991 and siblings, Helen, Ruth, Charles and Richard. SERVICE Monday, March 31, 2014, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Tom Royle officiating. Interment at Laketon Township Cemetery.
