Rita Jean Hekkema, age 80, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023. She was born in Muskegon, MI on September 25, 1942 to Harvey & Doris (Beardsley) Berg Sr. and graduated from Muskegon High School. Mrs. Hekkema had been employed as a Postal Worker at the Post Office in Grand Rapids until retiring. She liked to travel, go to yard sales and go shopping. Rita also enjoyed Adult coloring books, reading, puzzle books and doing arts and crafts.

Son, Brian (Juana) Hekkema; Daughters; Deborah (Tim) Bertoia, Therese (Christopher) Warren; Grandchildren; Sara, Adam, Miriam, Jazmin, Joanna and several great grandchildren, Brothers; Theodore (Laura) Berg, Randy(Paula)Berg. She was preceded in death by brothers Ed and Harvey
