Richard Miller

Mr. Richard Miller, age 94, died Friday, October 2, 2009. He was born in Wilmette, IL on June 3, 1915 to Nicholas & Margaret (Schaefer) Miller and married the former Gladys White on October 2, 1939. Mr. Miller had been employed in the Maintenance Department at New Trier High School in Wilmette, IL for 29 years. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed watching the Cubs and loved to be at his cottage on Bear Lake. SURVIVORS Sons, Richard Jr. (Iris) Miller of Muskegon, Jeff Miller of Mathews, NC; 9 grandchildren, Pam (John) Young, Stacy (Michael) Steele, twins, Jamie Miller & Jodie (Gary) Elrod, Rory Miller, Richard (Jen Glickstein) Miller, Marc (Charlotte Knepfel) Martin, David (Liz) Martin, Suzanne (David) Martin-Reay; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Dan Miller; sisters, Jackie Meier, Doris (Harvey) Coulter; daughter-in-law, Judy Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys on November 13, 2006; 2 sons, Jim and Neal; brother, Norbert Miller; 4 sisters, Greta Fiegen, Lois Steffens, Vivian Burke, Hope Miller. SERVICE Tuesday, October 6, 2009, 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Olson officiating. Interment at Egelston Township Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, 5-9 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon and Tuesday, 1 hour prior to the service at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. MEMORIAL: St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
