Richard Edward Lock

LOCK, MR. RICHARD E. Grand Haven Mr. Richard E. Lock, age 78, of Grand Haven, died Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at North Ottawa Community Hospital. He was born in Grand Haven, MI on September 20, 1925 to Edward and Elizabeth Brown Lock and married the former Donna Jean Pickett in 1961. Mr. Lock had been employed by the city of Grand Haven as superintendent for Lake Forest Cemetery and later for the Parks Department. He served his country in the U. S. Navy Armed Guard during WWII in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of operations. Mr. Lock was recalled to the service during the Korean War. He was a member of United Methodist Church of the Dunes and The Masonic Lodge, The American Legion Post 28 and VFW Post 2326. Mr. Lock was an avid reader, enjoying mysteries and History. He also enjoyed woodworking and bowling. SURVIVORS Wife, Donna and sister Marcella Charles Ortquist of Norton Shores, MI. SERVICE United Methodist Church of the Dunes 2 PM Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004.
