Richard (Dick) Ferski, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 3, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy of love and service. He was born April 6, 1939, in Muskegon, Michigan, and spent the last year residing in Inman, South Carolina with his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Rick Blair. A proud U.S. Marine, Dick served his country from June 6, 1958, until June 5, 1961, achieving the rank of Corporal (E-4).
A retired employee of Sealed Power, Dick embraced life with enthusiasm, dedicating time to travel with his beloved wife and family. He was known for his loving spirit and unwavering support to his daughter, Julie Blair, and his son, Michael Ferski. Dick also found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Michael Shulz, Wendy Burden, Michelle Wiggins and his great-grandchildren sharing countless memorable moments that his family will forever treasure.
Dick's vibrant personality extended beyond his family; he was a member of the VFW Don Rea Post #8846, where he made many friends and continued to show his deep commitment to the camaraderie and values he cherished from his time in the military. He leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Phil Porter, and sister-in-law, Pat Hargreaves, who will remember him fondly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW Don Rea Post #8846 on May 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM, following a Graveside Service at Laketon Township Cemetery at 12:00 PM. Dick's life was a testament to the love of family, the importance of service, and the joy of living fully. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dick was preceded in death by: his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Jean Ferski; parents Edward and Edith Ferski; brothers, Robert and David Ferski
