Richard J. Klepper KLEPPER, RICHARD J. "DICK" Ft. Myers, FL & Mears, MI Formerly of Kalamazoo Dick Klepper passed away on January 12, 2006 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born in Kalamazoo December 1st, 1926 the son of the late Richard and Jennie (Dykehouse) Klepper. God gave Dick many opportunities during his lifetime. In 1960 he Incorporated Heritage Estates and developed 50 acres at Eagle Lake, Texas Township, and with his two sons Jerry and Brian built many homes. In the late 1960 he developed Silver Lake Campground in Mears, MI. Dick's dream was a family owned business that involved his entire family including daughters Jacqualyn and Lori. During 1978, Dick and Marilyn along with the congregation of Immanuel Fellowship Church were instrumental in a new building project where Dick was the general contractor. Immanuel Fellowship Church was dedicated in June of 1979. In 1982 the corporation moved to the Silver Lake area permanently and continued to develop land with his sons. The family business includes Sandy Shores Campground and Parkside Store. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn (Noteboom); his four children, Jacqualyn Klepper, Jerry (Christine) Klepper, Brian (Nancy) Klepper and Lori (Abe) Berson; 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; his sisters, Reanetta DeYoung, Alice (Reverend Don) Jansma and many nieces and nephews. Dick was a member of the Shelby Congregational Church. "He will be our guide even unto death" Psalm 48:14. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, January 18th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. where Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Thursday with Rev. Dr. Ernest Cummings officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
