Retha Jancek

Mrs. Retha "Marge" Jancek, age 80, passed away peacefully Monday evening, September 3, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 28, 1927 in Muskegon, MI to Norman and Mabelle Paggeot. On May 26, 1951 she married Lewis Jancek and together they had 7 daughters and 1 son. She loved the huge gatherings at her home with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, tending her flower garden (especially her prized roses), bird watching and listening to country music. She passed on her gardening skills, her strong will and her ability to "laugh til you cry" to all of her daughters. Marge is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband of 56 years, daughters Diana Jancek (partner Chris Bedford) of Montague, Judy (Jim) Davis of Tucson, AZ, Lynn Jancek (Rick Newberry)of Atlin, BC, Lois Jancek (Tom Wagner) of Whitehall, Cindy (Jeff) Beckwith of Fruitport, Monica (Brian) Daigle of North Muskegon, Rae Jean (Jon) Erickson of Whitehall, 1 sister; Doris Hansen of Escanaba, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Daniel Lewis in 1963, her parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister. FUNERAL LITURGY: Friday, September 7, 2007, at 11:00 am, at St. James Catholic Church in Montague with Rev. Fr. Donn P. Tufts presiding. Interment will be made in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Montague.
