Raymond A. Stewart

Mr. Raymond A. Stewart, age 83, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at a local nursing home. He was born April 13, 1924 in Fremont, MI to Raymond L. and Jennie (Straszewski) Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a former member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and attended Sacred Heart Catholic church. He retired from Muskegon Public Schools. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. On May 8, 1948 he married Otsie L. Frazier in Muskegon, and she preceded him in death on February 27, 1995. He was survived by 1 son, Michael (Jeanne) Stewart of Muskegon; 2 grand-daughters, Janis (Tony) Milliron and Jill (Rick) Venne; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 brother, Kenneth (Pat) Stewart of FL and 1 sister, Dorothy Stewart of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Ruth Ann Smith. SERVICES will be held 3:00PM, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. with Rev. Fr. Norm Droski presiding. VISTATION with the family will be 6:00PM to 9:00PM Monday. Interment will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS in honor of Raymond maybe give to The Alzheimer's Association.
