Raymond M. Shackelford

Mr. Raymond M. Shackelford, age 96, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008. He was born in Muskegon, MI on September 19, 1911 to the late William & Anna Shackelford. On August 14, 1930 he married Meda Holmes. Mr. Shackelford retired after 25 years as Supervisor of Public Works for the city of North Muskegon. He was a life member of Dad's of Foreign Service Members Post #8846. SURVIVORS 6 children, Beverly Klinger of Casnovia, Bernard (Monnie) Shackelford of Montague, Marion (Orville) Smith of Whitehall, Donald (special friend, Marilyn) of Lakewood Club, Gary (Betty) Shackelford of Twin Lake, and William (Carol) Shackelford of Twin Lake; 41 grandchildren; 91 great-grandchildren; 59 great- great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Phylis (Fredrick) Berg of Muskegon and Pat (Donald) Gelbaugh of Plainwell, MI; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Elizabeth Showers of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Meda; daughters, Shirley Mae Shackelford and Nancy Ferguson; son, Norman "Buddy" Shackelford; grandsons, Emil "Buddy" Klinger, Steven Funell, and Jeffery Shackelford.
