Ray Simmons

Ray Junior Simmons, age 77, passed away peacefully at home, August 6, 2007, after a short illness. Survivors include his loving wife, Jean, of 28 years; 1 son, Ray (Sandi) Simmons; 4 daughters, Sheryl (Patrick) Kiley, Joan (Karl) Schipper, Cathy (Randy) Potter, Carol Green; 1 step-son, Alan (Kathy) Betts; 2 sisters-in-law, Joyce Simmons and June (Fred) Grunow; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Celia; brother, Donald; Sister, Joan; and his parents-in-law, Ted and Edna Bockenek. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick's in Grand Haven at 8am on Aug. 22 with a Memorial with Honor Guard at the VFW #2326 in Grand Haven, with lunch following. Ray donated his body to Science Care (1-800-417-3747) and is in Colorado helping young doctors learn. His cremated remains will be brought back home to be interred at a later date.)
