Ralph F. Van Lente VAN LENTE, MR. RALPH F. (Husband of Alice) Muskegon Mr. Ralph F. VanLente, age 91 passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2006. He was born on September 6, 1914 to Ralph and Gertrude (Reidsma) VanLente in Holland, MI and resided in the West Michigan area all of his life. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Muskegon and St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Hart and sang with both of their choirs. Mr. VanLente was a member of the Cosmops men's singing group and a member of the "Old Newsboys". Prior to his retirement, Mr. VanLente worked at Kaydon's for 25 years as a manufacturing engineer and had previously been employed at Brunswick and Hagerstran. Mr. VanLente was honored both nationally and state wide as a second-place title holder for blood donation. On November 24, 1937, in Muskegon, he married Alice Koskuba and she survives him along with 9 children, James (Sue) VanLente of Portland, OR., Rev. Fr. Richard VanLente of Conklin, MI, Robert (Sue) VanLente of Portland, MI., Wm. VanLente of Inyokern, CA, Mary Catherine VanLente of North Muskegon, Joe (Beth) VanLente of North Muskegon, John (D'Ann) VanLente of Cape Coral, FL., Gretchen VanLente of North Muskegon, Peggy (Rod) Schaub of Muskegon; daughter-in-law, Linda VanLente of Berwick, PA; 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Lloyd VanLente of Grand Rapids. Mr. VanLente was preceded in death by his son, Tom, as well as 5 brothers, Vernon, Gerald, Donald, Nelson, and James VanLente. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Hart, MI. VISITATION with the family will be 6 - 9 PM Friday at the The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 and one hour prior to the service at the church. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider The Muskegon Red Cross or the Cosmop Male Singers. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Muskegon.
