Queen, Betty

Betty Queen, age 78, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, November 4, 2006 at a local care facility. She was born February 28, 1928 in Sheffield, England. Betty moved to Spring Lake from Texas 18 years ago and was employed as an adult care provider. Betty enjoyed reading, music, being outside on her scooter, and visiting with her friends at "Burger King." She is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann (Jackie) Matheny of Fruitport; a daughter-in-law, Martha Queen of Crosby, Texas; 2 sons, John J. (Frances) Queen of Spring Lake and William R. (Mary) Queen of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Queen. The service for Betty will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Spring Lake Wesleyan Church. Friends may meet the family following the service at the church. Memorials to The People Center in Spring Lake or to the Spring Lake District Library are appreciated.
