Phyllis J. Burke

Phyllis J. Burke (nee Stewart), age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 15, 2008, in Rochester, Michigan. She is survived by her husband Paul E. Burke of Rochester, MI; her son Paul A. Burke and his wife Sheryl of Rochester; her daughter Shelly Beach and son-in-law Daniel of Sparta, MI; and her five grandchildren, Brian Burke and wife Christy of Rochester, Keri Burke and fiance Eric Sorenson of Rochester, Andrew Burke of Rochester, Jessica Beach of Stanwood, Washington, and Nathan Beach of Cedar Falls, Iowa. Phyllis and her husband Paul were graduates of Muskegon High School. They were members of Lake Harbor Baptist Church which is now Bridge Bible Church, before they moved to the Detroit area. In each of her churches, she was involved in teaching, music, and children's ministries. Upon moving back to the Muskegon area in 1988, Phyllis and Paul joined Grace Church of West Ottawa. Phyllis was devoted to family and church and leaves a rich heritage of serving others and honoring the name of Jesus Christ. She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Grace Church Harvest Bible Chapel (15020 Stanton St. @ U.S. 31 in West Olive) with her pastor, Rev. Ken Gentzler officiating. VISITATION will be Friday evening from 6-9 PM at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W.
