Phoebe Anne Booker, age 96, of Spring Lake, MI, left this life on Saturday, January 6, 2024. She was born in Ohio on March 25, 1927 to Bryan & Amy (Wilkins) Butterfield and was the oldest of five children. Phoebe grew up in the Midwest where she once raised a grand prize steer in the Ohio State Fair. She married Walter "Woody" Booker on December 30, 1951. They lived in Arizona and Iowa with their five children before finally moving to Michigan. Always curious, Phoebe was an avid reader, gardener, and baker. She sang in the church choir and served as both a troop leader and chairwoman for the Girl Scouts organization. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds and was an amazing quilter, seamstress, and wood carver. She loved nature, music, and her family.

Her children: Stephen Booker of Valparaiso, IN, Cynthia (Robert) Whipkey of Spring Lake, MI, Jennifer Faltas of Ames, IA, Bryan (Linda) Booker of Holland, MI, Susan Booker of Spring Lake, MI; grandchildren: Laurel Faltas, Erin (Paul) Craig, Ingrid (Zachary) Shook, Jennifer (Samuel) Clemens, Walter (Jaclyn) Booker, Ted Booker, Tara (Elias) Whipkey-Abeh, Nyles Faltas, Ben Booker, Nathan Booker, Ryan Faltas; great-grandchildren: Lucas, August, and Paul Clemens, Evelyn and Nora Booker, Zachary and Natalie Shook, Grace Craig, Ori and Winn Whipkey-Abeh; sister: Maxine (Thomas) Gurr; daughter-in-law: Cathleen Booker; son-in-law: Nabil Faltas; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her siblings: Doris Mae, Gordon, and Curtis.
