Mr. Philip John Looney, age 72, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019. He was born in New Haven, CT on March 8, 1947 to Joseph & Frances (Dwyer) Looney and served his country in the US Navy and then as an FBI Special Agent in Detroit, Saginaw and Syracuse, NY until retiring. He married the former Joan Boismier on September 22, 1972. Mr. Looney graduated from Southern Connecticut College and later received a Masters degree in Public Administration from Marist College. Philip was a long time resident of Syracue, NY before moving to Nunica. He was a lifeguard for many years, ran marathons, enjoyed downhill skiing, weight lifting, golfing and hiking the outdoors. SURVIVORS wife Joan, 2 daughters, Taryn (Kevin) Looney-Haus of Jersey City, Kara Looney of California; grandchild Aoife Haus; brothers, Rev. Joseph Looney, Michael (Antoinette) Looney; sister, Mary Wilkinson; cousin, Blaise O'Connell; many nieces, nephews & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark. MEMORIAL SERVICE Friday, November 1, 2019, 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Spring Lake with Fr. David Gross officiating. Internment in St. Mary's Cemetery in Muskegon.
