Philip Scott Capaldi, known to his family and friends as Scott, passed away on October 15, 2026, in Muskegon, Michigan, at the age of 54.

Born on May 12, 1972, in Westland, Michigan, Scott spent his early childhood in the Detroit area before moving with his family to West Michigan in 1986. Scott worked for various roofing contractors over the years and earned his GED. A gifted and versatile artist, he had a natural talent for drawing and sketching. During his younger years, Scott was known as a fiercely protective older brother. Though his adult life was shaped by complex struggles and profound challenges, his family remembers his creative spirit, charisma, and the moments of warmth they shared.

Scott is survived by his loving sister, Rhiannon (Scott) Dakin; his brother, Aron (Maranda) Capaldi; his stepsisters, Nicole (James) Nava and Jerico (J.R.) May; his stepfather, Mark Gould; his grandmother, Jo Anne Capaldi; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Brandemihl; his father, Philip Martin Capaldi; and his brother, Gerald Joseph "Joe" Capaldi.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the funeral home. Private family services will be held at a later date.
