Perry Watson Jr.

Mr. Perry Watson, Jr., age 80, passed away Monday, August 27, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born June 1, 1927, in Dublin, Mississippi to Perry Sr. and Hallie (Bryant) Watson. He married the former Roberta Burns on April 21, 1947. Perry and his family moved to Muskegon Heights, September 10, 1950. He was employed at Campbell, Wyant, and Cannon for 22 years until his retirement. He was a charter member of The Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where he was a former male chorus member. He also served as a church deacon and the pastor's aid president. Perry was a hard working, proud and devoted family man. He was a wonderful baker and cook and enjoyed family picnics, fishing, gardening and gospel singing. Perry was a World War II veteran and served in the 97th Engineering Battalion. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Philippine Independence Ribbon. SURVIVORS 5 sons, Edgar (Marilyn) Watson, William (Patricia) Watson, Nathan Watson, all of Muskegon Hts., Perry (Ida) Watson of Mishawaka, IN, Joey Watson of Pulaski, TN; 3 daughters, Georgia (Andrew) Bernard, Cheryl (Charles) Major, both of Muskegon; Nina Watson-Grant of Bloomington, IL; 1 daughter-in-law Anita (Danny Lee) Watson of Muskegon Hts; 28 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Wilma Sadberry of Indianapolis, IN; 5 brothers, Leroy (Bessie) Neyland of St. Louis, MO, Ronnie, Paul, and Allan all of Indianapolis, IN and William Watson of Charleston, SC. Perry was preceded in death by both parents and son Danny Lee. VISITATION Will be held on Friday from 12 to 7 pm at the Funeral Home with family hour from 5-7pm SERVICE Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 12:00 noon at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
