MOORE, MR. PERCY RUSSELL Norton Shores Mr. Percy Russell Moore, age 76, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005. He was born in Muskegon, MI on June 4, 1929 Delbert C. Alvina Stark Moore & married the former Gloria M. Knill on September 14, 1974. Mr. Moore enlisted in the Army Air Force March 6, 1946 and served continuously until retirement on July 31, 1966. He a personnel Sergeant Major; First Sergeant; Recruiter-Salesman and Recruiting Superintendent for Western Michigan until retirement in 1966. After retirement from the service he was Assistant Personnel Manager and Safety Director at the Anaconda Wire and Cable Co. of Muskegon. Mr. Moore was Recreation Director for the City of Muskegon for 3 years; was Supervisor at CWC Castings, Division of Textron, Inc. and retired from CWC as an Expeditor in the pattern Engineering Department on September 30, 1986. Mr. Moore was Past Chief of the Vikings, past President of the Muskegon "M" Club, Executive Director of the Greater Muskegon Seaway Festival 1968-1969. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Polish Falcons & the Leather Helmet Group of Muskegon "Big Reds". Mr. Moore played fast pitch softball for several years in the Muskegon Area; liked to play golf, enjoyed fishing & hunting. SURVIVORS Wife, Gloria; 1 daughter, Lynn Marie Giles of Newaygo, MI & 1 son, David Mark Kristina Moore of Sparta, MI; grandchildren, Dana Judd of Muskegon; step children, Edward Kate Opalek of Twin Lake, Marcie Dan Page of Muskegon & Christy Mark VanHoven of Muskegon; step grand children, Lanette, Brent & Amanda Opalek of Grand Haven, Kenneth Ann Page of Grand Rapids, MI, Kari Steve Trebilcock of North Muskegon & Seth & Erin VanHoven of Lansing; step great great grandchildren, Nicholas Allison Page of Muskegon & Stephen & Justine Trebilcock of Muskegon; 1 brother, Delbert C. Audrey Moore, Jr.. He was preceded in death by his sister, Neola Swanson on August 19, 2000. MEMORIAL SERVICE Thursday, August 25, 2005, 11:00 AM at the Clock Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Rager officiating & Military Rites under the Auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION Wednesday, 7-9 PM and Thursday, one hour prior to the service at Clock Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: Vikings Scholarship Fund or VNS Hospice. Clock - Muskegon
