Woodring-Modd, Mrs

Penny Sue

Muskegon, Michigan

Penny Sue (Modd) Woodring, age 81, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023. She was born in Detroit, MI on July 23, 1941 to Guy & Harrieta (Moore) Carpenter and married David Woodring on July 17, 1992. Mrs. Woodring had been employed as a Social worker for Catholic Charities for 25 years. In her youth, she did aerobics, tap danced, played softball and she loved camping with her friends and family. Penny was very giving and generous person and she would often do things for others. She would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need and always have a contagious smile. Mrs. Woodring would often send letters to grieving parents who have gone through difficult times such as her own to help the families through their difficult time. She also drove buses for Reeths Puffer High School, and worked as a teachers aide there as well. She has accomplished many things in her life leaving her family as proud as can be to call her their mother, grand mother, aunt and sister. She never missed out on any performance, graduation, or event for her children and grand children. She was the most dedicated person and so many looked up to her. There's so many wonderful things that can be said about her, but that list would be endless. If you had the privilege of knowing Penny, you would know what an enormous loss this is to everyone.
