Mrs. Penny Dee Hanks Habetler, age 65, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on February 20, 1952 to Milburn & Joan (Gurzynski) Hanks and married Michael Habetler on December 4, 1970. Mrs. Habetler had been employed as a youth center director for years and also worked in sales at Fox Jewelry, JCPenney and Younkers. Penny was a devoted member of Samuel Lutheran Church. Penny enjoyed volunteering at church, food trucks, being a math and reading tutor & was a wonderful seamstress making several outfits for her children along with purses. SURVIVORS Husband, Michael; 3 children, Amy (James) Fetters, Danielle Habetler & Thomas (Sarah) Habetler; 6 grandchildren, Sydney Fetters, Zoe Fetters, A1C Patrick Taylor, Thomas "TJ" Habetler, Isaac Habetler & Eli Habetler; mother, Joan Hanks; sisters, Debra (Daryl) Kirkland & Gretchen (Paul) Miedona; brother, Milburn Hanks Jr.; aunt, Donna (Sonny) Gurzynski; brother-in-laws, Steven (Kathryn) Habetler & David (Kathleen) Habetler; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Milburn Hanks. MEMORIAL SERVICE Saturday, December 2, 2017, 11:00 am at Samuel Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service with Rev. Chris Anderson officiating. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Family Promise of The Lakeshore.
