Mr. Reginald (Reg) Pennington, age 67, died February 1, 2007. Reg was an intelligent man who was admired by his family and friends. He believed that you learn by listening and only offered advice when asked. Reg was a self-taught engineer by trade and a master at fixing just about anything. After 37 years of service Reg retired as Vice President of Manufacturing & Engineering from West Michigan Steel (Michigan Steel). Eight short months later, Reg was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He fought hard & without complaint for over five years. His amazing strength & courage inspired those who knew him. Reg enjoyed spending his summers on Little Bass Lake in Northern Michigan and his winters in Matlacha, Florida. His hobbies included restoring & pulling antique John Deere tractors, fishing and golfing. He had a contagious laugh & infectious smile and was the kind of guy you looked forward to seeing. Reg was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son, teacher and friend. All whose lives he touched are better because of him. Our worlds will never be the same and while he will forever be missed, he will live on in our hearts. A "Celebration of Life" will be held in his memory this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Attn: Reg Pennington Memorial, 1421 E. 12 Mile Rd., Madison Hts., MI 48071. Beloved husband of Beverly Pennington. Loving father of Leslie (Matt) Jones and Tara (Chuck) Leibel. Dear son of Lorraine (the late Elmo) Pennington and Brother of Annita Larson and the late Ron Pennington. Loving grandfather of Evan, Emma, Kate and Natalie will also be missed by his extended family and life-long friends.
