Pearl Mae Gillespie Turns

Mrs. Pearl Mae (Veach) Gillespie Turns, age 91, passed away Friday, May 02, 2008 at Mercy Health Partners-Sherman Campus. She was born April 19, 1917 in Allegan, MI to the late David and Martha Veach. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Gillespie; her 2nd husband, Raymond Turns; two daughters, Joyce Henry and Caroline Poling; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters. Surviving are her children: Clare (Karlene) Gillespie of Fremont, MI, Cliff "Bud" (Jane) Gillespie of Pinellas Park, FL, and Thomas (Marcia) Gillespie of Muskegon, MI; brother, James Veach; sister, Shirley Curry; and grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren, totaling 120 of whom she never forgot a birthday! She loved to cook, enjoying the big holiday family gatherings. Funeral Services for Pearl will be Monday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., with Rev. Chad Fessenden officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening, May 4, 6-8 p.m., and on Monday, one hour prior to services (10-11). Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hackley Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice or American Cancer Society.
