Mrs. Pearl M. Bean, age 88, passed away early Saturday morning, May 17, 2008 at The Village at the Oaks in Muskegon. She was born on December 29, 1919 in Bridgeton Twp., Michigan to John & Stella (McKie) Young. She had been employed by Brennaman Hartshorn for 24 years until her retirement, and she was a member of Fifth Reformed Church in Muskegon. On June 6, 1939 she married Harold J. Bean, and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Mildred Glasen. Survivors include 5 children, Jerry (Thelma Frees) Bean of Twin Lake, Judith (Lewis) May of Coopersville, Carole (Tony) Crosser of Twin Lake, Dennis (Brenda) Bean of Twin Lake, and Brian (Carolyn) Bean of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Basil (Viola) Young of Twin Lake; her sister-in-law, Florence Bean of Twin Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Fifth Reformed Church in Muskegon (2330 Holton Road) with Rev. Norman Swier officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home in Fremont. Suggested Memorials: The Building Fund of Fifth Reformed Church, or Harbor Hospice.
