Mrs. Barbara Maxine Paulin, age 95, passed away February 5, 2007, at Seminole Shores Living Center, following a short illness. She was born May 23, 1912 in Mesick, MI to Floyd and Maude (Oatley) Butler and moved to Muskegon as a child. Barbara graduated from the Hackley School of Nursing in 1933. She married James L. Paulin, Jr. in Muskegon on November 8, 1933. Barbara was the founder of the DyDee Diaper Service in Muskegon and along with her husband James, owned and operated the Travelodge Motels in Grand Rapids and Dearborn, MI, the Lakeland Motel and White Lake Motel in Whitehall and the Holiday Motel in Muskegon. They moved to Bradenton, FL in 1973 and her husband, James preceded her in death in 1994. She was a member of the Elkettes in Bradenton and the National Hotel-Motel Association. Barbara returned to Muskegon in 2004. She is survived by 4 grandchildren, David R. (Pat) Cashbaugh, Jr., James L. Cashbaugh, Sandy L. (Dan) Maynard and Janet M. (Bruce) Danz. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Cashbaugh in 2001. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held Friday, February 9, 2007, 2 P.M. at Seminole Shores Living Center, 850 Seminole, with Rev. John Brown presiding.
