Paul Holman

Mr. Paul A. Holman, age 81, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Heartwood Lodge-Hospice House. He was born in Grand Haven, MI on July 29, 1930 to Arthur & Elizabeth (Meeusen) Holman. Paul had a long career as a teacher, serving for 32 years at Lincoln Park Public Schools. Paul loved nature and was an enthusiastic birdwatcher, photographer and world traveler. Paul's interest in culture included an exceptionally wide range of ethnic and fine cuisine, and music ranging from classical and baroque to modern progressive and indie rock. Paul had a compassion for those who suffer. He enjoyed watching sports, loved to read and to discuss politics from a liberal perspective. Paul had a fierce independence, yet was also a loving father and a gentle, close friend. Paul was a seeker of the truth - a lifelong journey which led him to Christ. SURVIVORS Daughter, Vinca (Doug) Renner ; nieces, Ann Diel, Beverly Latham, Dawn Taylor; nephew, Mark Wills. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret Wills and Dorothy Holman.
