Paul Earl Garton

Paul Earl Garton,age 77, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, following complications from surgery. He was born on July28,1945, to Paul I. Garton and Marianne(Engel) Yarbrough and lived his entire life in Muskegon. After graduation from Muskegon Heights High School, Paul joined the U.S. Navy and served in Viet Nam. After the service, Paul spent his entire life working as a pattern maker until his retirement in 2007. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, car rides, visiting the casinos and interacting with his grandchildren. On May 2, 1970 he married Arlene Zarimba and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. Paul is survived by his wife Arlene, daughter Gina (Matthew) Sciba, son Paul F. Garton, and eight grandchildren Gillian (Kellen), Zachary, Joseph, Ellery, Alex, Tyler, Maddison, and Aidin, who gave him his greatest joy. He is also survived by his sister Candace (Gene) Giangacomo, his brother David (Elana) Garton, his aunt Marilou(Jerry) Bork, sister-in-law Dee Whittaker, brother-in-law Frank ( Marilyn) Zarimba, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father James Yarbrough, sisters Paula (Howard) Meloche and Char (Gus) Vulgaris and his in-laws Frank and Irene Zarimba and brother in law James Whittaker.
