Mr. Patrick Arthur Clark, age 71, of Grand Haven, Michigan, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at North Ottawa Community Hospital with Betty, his dedicated wife of 52 years, at his side. Pat was born August 28, 1941 in Saginaw MI, to the late Arthur and Virginia (Pelkey) Clark. Pat moved to Dearborn at age 11 and graduated from Dearborn High School. Following graduation, he attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago IL, where he met his loving wife, Betty (Hamann) Clark. They returned to Dearborn MI where he became a Master Journeyman Patternmaker and had two daughters. Pat and his family relocated to Fruitport MI, and eventually settled in Grand Haven MI where he and Betty have resided for the last 34 years. Pat enjoyed mentoring youth basketball and baseball, and sharing his passion for RC airplanes. His favorite pastimes included camping with his family, sailing, wildlife and nature photography, and woodworking in his shop. Pat's favorite pet buddies included his Brittany Spaniel, Chante, very special cat friend, Moe, and many other pets over the years. Pat's hobbies also included a passion for 50's music, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and traveling with Betty and the cats in their motor home. Pat was also an avid WWII history buff and was a member of the Grand River Sailing Club for 33 years and former member of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club. He is saying "I made it." SURVIVORS Pat is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Caryn Clark-Helmer, Julie Clark DeSanto; grandchildren, Lindsey and Alexandra Helmer, Allegra, Nolan and Talia DeSanto; brother, Terrence (Kay) Clark; uncle, Robert (Joyce) Clark; brother-in-law, William Hamann; cousins, Jack (Mary) Clark, Barbara (Al) Aschettino; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Virginia Clark and mother-in-law, Tessie Hamann. SERVICE Cremation has taken place and a memorial service in his honor will be held this summer. MEMORIAL: Contributions in Pat's honor may be made to the Grand Haven Salvation Army or Harbor Humane Society in West Olive.
