Mr. Otto H. Lenar, age 90, passed away Friday, February 15, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born November 16, 1917 to Joseph and Pauline (Cyran) Lenar in Muskegon and lived his entire life here. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He served his country during WWll in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and the Polish Falcons. Prior to his retirement, Otto had worked as an accountant for Snow White Bakery and Alstrom Construction Inc. He was past president of the Greater Muskegon Bowling Association, was a long time member of the Lincoln Golf Course, and also volunteered his time at the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts. Otto played cribbage twice weekly and was a member of the Mona Shores Seniors Cribbage Group. He enjoyed following the Detroit Red Wings. A wonderful husband and father, Otto is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise, who he married on November 4, 1950. SURVIVORS also include 3 children, Susan Lenar of Muskegon, Steven Lenar of Fenton, MI, and Diane (Alan Vliem) Lenar of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Valerian, Leo, Eugene, and Stanley and his sister, Jennie Glenn. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 Sixth St.) with Rev. Fr. Thomas J.Brown presiding. VISITATION will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 with the rosary prayed at 6PM. INTERMENT with full military rites under the auspices of the V.F.W. Muskegon County Council will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church Endowment Fund or the Muskegon Catholic Central Education Fund.
