SWOVELAND, MR. OSCAR VALORUS Muskegon, MI Mr. Oscar Valorus Swoveland, age 76, died Thursday, December 13, 2001 at home. Born in Harrison Township of Elkhart County, IN on September 5, 1925, he was the youngest son of Norman & Minnie Evalena Stouder Swoveland & married the former Betty L. Bugbee in Muskegon, MI on July 8, 1972. Mr. Swoveland was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corp. in WWII as well as 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves. He had worked as a PBX man at GTE for 42 years prior to retiring in 1987. Mr. Swoveland was of the Mennonite faith & had been a life member of the Moose Lodge. SURVIVORS Wife, Betty; 3 sisters, LaVeta P. VanDiepenbos of Goshen, IN, Estella L. Lemon of Columbia City, IN & S. Marceil Drake of Roanoke, IN; 1 brother, Gerald L. Swoveland of Edwardsburg, MI. SERVICE Monday, December 17, 2001, 11:00 AM at the Clock Chapel with Rev. Dwight Reed & Mr. Frank Bednarek officiating. Interment at Oakhurst Cemetery-Whitehall, MI. VISITATION Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to the service at Clock Funeral Home.
