Orville Martin Smith Jr, age 67, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was born on the Island of Guam on February 17, 1957 to Orville Smith & Barbara (Hill) and served his country in the US Army stationed in Germany. Orville worked as a truck driver for over 15 years for CAM Transportation out of Angola, Indiana. He married Kathy Weatherly on May 22, 2010. Orville was very close to his father and they enjoyed racing stock cars at Thunderbird raceway and other local tracks. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races and especially Rusty Wallace. He loved to sing and performed many times at local karaoke stages. He had an infectious laugh and enjoyed life and people. He and Kathy liked going to yard sales and hunting for antiques. Orville was a proud member of the American Legion Algot Johnson Post 69 in Whitehall serving on the Honor Guard for many years and volunteering for lots of projects.

SURVIVORS

wife Kathy Weatherly; son, Jeremy Turpin, Adam Spencer (Sarah); daughter Kali Spencer (DJ). 13 grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.

siblings,, Kathy (John) Grow, Debbie Smith, Steven (Anita) Smith, Chris (Cheryl) Smith, Laura (Andy) Townsend. He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Johnny Turpin in 2022 and Adopted Son Nelson in 1988, and daughter Tiara Spencer in 2017
