Ophelia Spears

Spears, Mrs. Ophelia Muskegon, Michigan Mrs. Ophelia Spears, age 98, passed away at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Chicago, IL on Sunday, January 16, 2022. She was born in Greenville, MS on August 6, 1923 to Joseph Bottoms and Velma Williams in Greenville, MS. Mrs. Spears moved to Michigan and was married to Rev. S.W. Spears for over 50 years, he preceded her in death. She had been employed with the Department of Human Services as a Home Health Aid for many elderly families over the years. Mrs. Spears accepted Christ and was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. I.G. Kirksey and late Rev. Daniel Dixon. She was on the church mother's board and women mission president for many years. Mrs. Spears was a founding members and senior mother of the Second Timothy Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Isaac J. Bass. She enjoyed cooking, attending church activities, gardening and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Spears was blessed to live 98 years on this Earth but she knew her Lord and Savior was ready for her to return back into his eternal arms. She will be deeply missed by many. Vaughn of Los Angeles, CA, Freddie Richardson of Oakland, CA, Daa'lyah (Abdul) Muhaiimin of Chicago, IL, Jerome (Tammy) Richardson of Houston TX, Kirvis Richardson of Greenville, MS, Jimmy Vaughn of Houston, TX, Ora Spears and Carolyn Spears both of Muskegon, MI; special daughter, Yvette Foster, Karene Totten and Shuryvonne Shambley; special grandson, Terrance Spears; 50 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren; a host of relatives, church family and friends. SERVICE A Funeral Service for Ophelia will be held 12 noon on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Clock Funeral Home, 1469 Peck St, Muskegon, Michigan 49441 with Pastor Allen Ray Bolton Sr., officiating and Pastor Issac J Bass, eulogist. BURIAL will be at Mona View Cemetery in Muskegon Heights, MI VISITATION A VISITATION for Ophelia will be held from 11AM-12PM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Clock Funeral Home, 1469 Peck St, Muskegon, Michigan 49441.
