O'Donnell O'Brien

Mr. O'Donnell O'Brien, age 84, died September 10, 2007 in Las Vegas, NV following a long illness. He was born March 23, 1923 in Toledo, OH. He had resided most of his life in the Lakeside area; and was a close friend of the Rafferty and Smith (Les & Catherine) families. O'Donnell served with National Guard (Co.G, 126th Infantry) prior to being discharged in the summer of 1945. In 1948, he re-enlisted in the U.S. Army and then in 1953 enlisted in the U.S.A.F., retiring, in 1965, as a Master Sergeant. "O'B" never talked about the Silver Star he received, other than to say "there were others that were doing acts of great courage just as deserving of a higher medal also". He was preceded in death by Agnes, his wife of 32 years. SURVIVORS include his older brother, Eugene Marshall of Las Vegas, NV and by his younger brother, John Knox of Albuquerque, NM. There will be no services in the Muskegon area.
