O. Orlea Christiansen

Mrs. O. Orlea Christiansen, age 90, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on July 10, 1924 to William & Edna (Thompson) Shaffer and married Gerald "Jerry" Christiansen on July 1, 1944. Mrs.Christiansen was a 1942 graduate of Muskegon Heights High School and had been employed in accounting for Northside Tractor Sales and as a clerk for Muskegon County Probate Court for 15 years until retiring. Orlea attended the Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene, was a member of the Muskegon Rock & Mineral Club, Ravenna Tops and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed knitting for Hackley Hospital newborns. She will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Daughter, Barbara (Ron) Veihl of Twin Lake; son, Lee Christiansen of Manistee; stepdaughter, Janet Christiansen; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Dale (Nelda) Shaffer of Spring Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, "Jerry"; brother, Donald Shaffer, stepson, Jim Christiansen; sister, LaVerle Gilmore. SERVICE Thursday, March 12, 2015, 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Aaron Gregory officiating. Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIAL: Christian Care Activity Fund.
