Mr. Norman M. Knobe, age 91, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Agape Home in Fruitport following a short illness. He was born in Chicago, the youngest of 6 children to Louis and Sophie (Spangler) Knobe on February 19, 1916. He moved to Muskegon in 1939 and married the former Marvel M. Hevel in Covington, KY on October 14, 1940. She preceded him in death on May 19, 1998. Mr. Knobe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Norman enjoyed buying, fixing and selling cars and served his country in the National Guard during WWII. He was formerly employed as a Tool & Die Maker for Buehrle Engineering, Johnson Tool & Die and retired from Dresser Industries. SURVIVORS: 2 daughters, Betty M. (Douglas) Johnston of Muskegon and Marcia L. (Norman) Czerniak of Grand Rapids; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Friday, 2:00 P.M., at the Lee Funeral Home, Fr. Norman Droski presiding. VISITATION: Thursday 4-7 p.m. and Friday 1 hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL: Heartland Hospice.
