Neta Kenney

Mrs. Neta Kenney, age 78, of Norton Shores, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 at her home. She was born December 9, 1928 in Dyersburg, TN to Rueben and Hazel (Hopper) Hamm. Neta married Marvin B. Kenney on June 28, 1946 in Hernando, MS. She had worked at American Coil Spring. She loved her family and her puppy, Angel, whom she named for her love of angels. Neta always wanted people to realize that they should never give up. When asked if she needed anything, Nannie would reply, "No, do YOU need anything?" She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; son, Marvin "Buddy" , daughter, Betty; her parents; and her brothers: Reuben W. Hamm, Jr., Billy Joe Hamm, Tommy Lynn Hamm. Surviving are her son, Bobby Kenney; daughters: Belinda (Jerry) Coles, Brenda Orling; eight grandchildren: Kristy Kenney, Anita Coles, Shaun, Melissa, Brandon, Nathan Kenney, Jason, Jeremy Orling; five great grandchildren; brother, Arthur B. Hamm; sister, Sandra K. Youngblood. Funeral Services for Neta will be Wednesday, November 14th at 2:00 p.m. at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 13th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service. Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Hackley Cancer Center.
