SCOTT, MRS. NANCY ANN North Muskegon Nancy was born September 3, 1922, to Ernest and Esther Corbin, in Hart, Michigan. She was the valedictorian of her 1939 Hart High School class. She married Robert F. Scott in Lansing, MI on October 9, 1943. She was employed as a receptionist at the U.S. Gypsum plant in Gypsum, OH. She was secretary to Eldon Nedeau, and was secretary to the Presidents of Hackley Union Banks. In 1970 she was elected City Clerk of North Muskegon and served until 1980. Nancy was skilled in arts & crafts & sewing. Many of her glass sun catchers sparkle in windows throughout the area. Her hand-sewn pot holders adorn kitchen walls in many homes. Woven pine needle baskets made by her are to be found on desks and tables, as are her hand fired clay figurines. She was a very active volunteer in many organizations: a Gray Lady at the Osteopathic Hospital, a tour guide at Hackley and Hume Houses, member of several committees at the Central United Methodist Church, Muskegon Lady Lions, Welcome Home for the Blind in Grand Rapids, and the Lions district 11-C-1, when Bob was District Governor in 1980-1981. While the Scotts had no children of their own, she adored her nieces and nephew, and grandnieces and grandnephews. There never was a young child or baby she didn't like to meet. She would go out of her way to greet them with a smile and make compliments to the parents. SURVIVORS 2 nieces, Connie Caruso of Grand Rapids, MI & Cindy John Debiak of Lowell, MI; 4 grandnieces, Carrie Corbin of TX, Sarah, Molly and Abigail Debiak of Lowell, MI; 3 grandnephews, Christopher Caruso of Grand Rapids, MI; Matthew Caruso Lisa of Muskegon, MI; Corbin Scott Debiak of Lowell, MI; and many cousins.
