Nancy Josephine Michels Profile Photo

Nancy Josephine Michels, 82, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, warmth, and unmistakable flair. Born to Joseph and Jeanne (Blasco) Baum on October 25, 1943, in Canton, Ohio, Nancy lived a vibrant life adorned with "bling" from head to toe. For many years, she resided in Columbus, Ohio, with her beloved husband, the late Clark Michels before they relocated to Muskegon in February 2018.

A graduate of Canton Ohio's Central Catholic High School, Nancy was a true artist. A gifted seamstress who crafted wedding dresses. She later worked at JoAnn Fabrics before a 25-year career as a telephone operator with AT&T, where she met the love of her life, Clark. They married on July 30, 1991, and shared many happy years until his passing in 2018. Nancy's creativity was boundless; she spent countless hours in her craft room producing stunning homemade cards stamped "Cards by Nancy," intricate jewelry, and unique art. Her creativity famously extended to her home, where she kept mannequins joyfully dressed in seasonal outfits-a charming quirk her family will forever cherish.

Nancy's friends and family will remember her vibrant spirit-often reflected in her ever-changing hair colors-her elegant handwriting, and the heartfelt cards she created. She loved music and even attended a Rolling Stones concert. In recent years, she lived at Seminole Shores assisted living where a fellow resident perfectly captured her spirit in a note: "You sparkle with no glitter, you love with no hate." An animal lover, she cared for beloved companions including cats Marty and Perla, and dog Lila.
