Nancy Irma Benes, 86, of Grand Haven, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025.

Nancy was born April 22, 1938 the daughter of Floyd and Anna Payne. She married John William Benes on April 27, 1957. Together they enjoyed 24 years of marriage until his death in 1982. Nancy enjoyed baking, traveling, gardening, and sewing. She was a loving, fun and mildly sarcastic woman who will be deeply missed.

Children, Kristie Hall, Daniel (Teresa) Benes, and Roger (Brenda) Benes; grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Josh, Amanda (Rob), Jacob (Tiedda), Lauren, and John (Tori); great-grandchildren, Miles, Jude, Cash, and Kaleb (Veronica); great-great-grandchild Lane; brothers, Don Payne, Larry (Jan) Payne, and Paul (Dee) Payne; sisters, Marge Lyons, Rose (Bill) Currier, and Bev Yff; and sister-in-law, Donna Payne.

She was preceded in death by: her husband John; great grandson Eizjah; brothers, Art, Jim and Bob Payne; brother-in-laws Lee Gould, Richard Lyons and John Yff; and sister-in-laws Rosemary, Willa and Viola Payne.

Cremation will take place and no public services are being planned at this time.
