GREEN, MRS. MYRTLE M. Muskegon Mrs. Myrtle M. Green, age 83, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2005 in Muskegon. She was born February 8, 1921 in Muskegon, Michigan the first child of Charles and Eva Lovett, and lived her entire life in Muskegon County. Myrtle Lovett graduated from Muskegon High School, and after working at Norge during the war, she completed her formal education and earned a teaching degree upon graduation from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo in 1948. The following year, she married Robert Green in Muskegon and began her teaching career with the Muskegon Public Schools where she taught at Central Junior High, Steele School and Bunker School until her retirement in 1983. The minds of thousands of former Muskegon students are etched with memories of Mrs. Green's English class. Mrs. Green enjoyed summer vacations, reading, writing; and cherished the time spent with her family and friends and her many pets. She was a member of several area organizations including the Retired Teacher's Association, the Greater Muskegon Woman's Club and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. She enjoyed attending Muskegon Symphony performances, and she worked as a docent at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Myrtle was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Muskegon where she taught Sunday school for many years. SURVIVORS Her husband and best friend of 56 years, Robert M. Green; three younger sisters, Iva Peter Berghuis of Fruitport, Eva Budzynski of Flagstaff, AZ and Catherine Leloff of Norton Shores; nieces and nephews, Debra Steven Beck, Jerry Cindy Burnett, Raymond Tracy Budzynski, Chelene Hirshower, Steven Jane Leloff, Connie Rick Grinwis and Penny Leloff; other family members, Elizabeth Beck, Thomas Beck, Lori Chad McCarl, J.L. Burnett, Charissa Burnett, Trina Rob Carpenter, Eric Grinwis, Melody Grinwis, Amanda Leloff and Angela Leloff. She was known simply as Aunt Myrt to many, many more. SERVICE Sunday, January 9, 2005, 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church, 1070 S. Quarterline Rd., with Rev. John H. Brown officiating. Private interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION Saturday, 1-3 & 6-8 PM, at the Clock Funeral Home.
