BUCKLEY, MRS. MONICA AGNES Muskegon Mrs. Monica A. Buckley, age 95, died Friday, August 21, 2009. She was born in Paris, MI on October 25, 1913 to William & Nellie (Doyle) Byrnes and married William K. Buckley on September 24, 1942. Mrs. Buckley had been employed as a Registered Nurse and head surgical nurse at Mercy Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and a long time member of St. Marys Altar Society. Mrs. Buckley belonged to the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the Association of Operating Room Nurses and the Irish American Club. She also enjoyed playing bridge with life long friends.She derived joy in life through her family and friends.Her eyes sparkled as you entered her doorway and her smile said you are always welcome in my heart and home. SURVIVORS Sons, William (Donna) Buckley of Falls Church,VA, Daniel (Michele) Buckley of Muskegon, Bernard Buckley of Muskegon; daughter, Mary (David) Ellis of Muskegon; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeffery) Sampson of Dallas, Bryan (Danielle) Dehmler-Buckley of Denver, Dana Buckley of Chicago, Ryan (Jennifer) Buckley of Chicago, Andrew Ellis of Denver; great grandchildren, Owen & Lucy Dehmler-Buckley; sister-in-laws Margaret Buckley of Muskegon, Patricia Byrnes of Rochester, MI; brother-in-law Alfred Perri of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her husband William in 1992 and granddaughter, Kerry Ellis in 2002; her 4 brothers, James, William, Thomas & Richard Byrnes and her sister Mary Dawson. SERVICE Tuesday, August 25, 2009, 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church with Fr. Matt Barnum officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM.
